OMEN by HP Laptop 17-cb1036ur
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to share with you my experience of using this laptop. After a month from the date of purchase, the HP Support assistant utility issued a message about the need to calibrate the battery. From that point on, the problems started. All the methods described on the official website of HP ended in failure. Updated the BIOS to the latest version. Returned Windows 10 to its original state, on the recommendation of HP technical support specialists. I do not want to give my laptop to the service because of incorrect calibration. I don't use my laptop outside the house.

I began to notice that during 3D games, when my laptop is turned on through the power cable, part of the battery is consumed (up to about 10%). As indicated by the orange indicator near the plug. If you exit the game, the battery is charged to 100%. Why this happens specialists from HP support do not comment, but one specialist gave an answer that this is possible.

Yesterday I saw the bulge of the plastic frame on the bottom of the screen, where the plastic frame is adjacent to the screen. Some of the glue ran from the screen to the plastic. I pressed the frame back against the screen. It stuck back. Apparently this happened from heating during 3D games.

Owners of this model please share your experience, are there any similar problems?

You may be experiencing a failure of the hinge the issue you see is not likely caused by heat. Very doubtful there is any kind of self-repair you can do and it really needs to be sent for Service I am afraid to say.

The thing is, I haven't touched the screen since installation. This appeared after 1.5 months. The edge of the plastic frame near the screen protruded half an inch.

Understood. You have opened it and closed it, however. Between the battery and the bulge you need to have it serviced. The problem will only get worse. That is why there is a warranty.
