My laptop's fan becomes loud and shuts down in succession.

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A few days ago my laptop's fan started randomly speeding up and becoming loud for a few seconds just to stop afterwards, and this would repeat a number of times before it stopped.

When it started, tapping the bottom of the laptop where the fan was would make it stop. But today it started doing that non-stop, and I can't find a way to make it work properly.

It's NOT an overheating issue as it does it even when powering up, completely cold, and it does it at random.

Here's a video showing how it looks and sounds like:

I'd appreciate any help, as this laptop is my means for living and if it were to break down I wouldn't know what to do.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
