HP Pavilion G6 2117EO
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello.

I have a little funny probem.

So my laptop see himself as a "

Notebook HP Pavilion g6-2214so" [BIOS ]

While under battery is writing its model : G6 2117EO

+ One of graphic card doesn't work. [ Windows don't even see secound graphic card [ 0 unknown devices ]]

In Bios i do not see option with dual graphic [It could be reason of that bios]

So can i somehow fix it ?

Like force install old bios from G6 2117eo ?

Greetings!

What you are seeing is consistent with the laptop actually being a g6-2214so...that model only has integrated video while the g6-2117eo has switchable dedicated video. It would seem someone has put a g6-2214so motherboard inside a g7-2117eo chassis. BIOS is not the problem. It can't make hardware that does not exist.

and one thing more...

That version : g6-2214so

Have a webcam? IF yes where can i download webcam driver to Win 7 x64 ?

HP Recommended

You should be able to see if it has a webcam or not. Is there a little eyehole looking back at you from the middle of the top of the screen?

HP Recommended

Yes but like you said if it is other chasser than motherboard it also can't support that webcam from that chasser to motherboard...

HP Recommended

Not so...either motherboard has the ability to support a webcam. Have you owned this since new? If you bought it used I think somebody put in a replacement motherboard so all the chassis parts including the webcam would be there, just a different motherboard.

Ofc used one. Anyway. Thanks for help 🙂
