Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Still in warranty and will not charge when I'm using it. I've tried component checks and it seems to indicate a failed battery if it is plugged in, but not if it isn't.

As you have run the test on the battery and it failed, this looks like a possible hardware failure. 

 

I would recommend you contact our HP support team with the failure ID, so that they can help you setup the service for your laptop.

 

HP support can be reached on www.hp.com/contacthp

Select the product type.

Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

Select the country from the drop-down.

You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.
