So I have an HP X2 10 inch laptop it's older I know it's not really supported anymore because of the hardware but I was always able to get the recovery through the cloud recovery tool but now when I enter in the product ID nothing comes up so is there somehow some way that I can get the recovery image? Like there's a bigger issue and I'm dealing with but I'll go into more details if I need to but trying to take care of it myself first but really need the official recovery

@m1ayers, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like you're dealing with a tricky situation, especially since it seems like the cloud recovery tool isn't pulling up your product information. Since HP may no longer provide support directly for older devices, there are a few steps you can try to get the recovery image:

Double-check Product ID

Make sure the Product ID you're entering is correct, as small typos or using the wrong format can cause the system not to recognize it. You can find your product ID by checking the device's system information or using a tool like HP Support Assistant (if you can access it).

Use the Windows 10/11 Installation Media

If you're just looking to reinstall Windows, you can bypass the HP-specific recovery image by using the Windows Media Creation Tool:

Download the Windows 10 or Windows 11 Media Creation Tool.

Create a bootable USB drive.

Boot from the USB and reinstall Windows.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
