This is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you want to check if you can replace DVD driver. I would like to help you resolve this issue.

We don’t recommend replacing DVD drive with SATA and we have not tested it like this.

However you can do this on your own discretion.

Click here and check page no.69 to find the hard drives supported by this notebook.

Let me know if that helps.

Cheers.

That's not an answer -- the author does NOT want to replace the current disk-drive by another disk-drive.

It is desired to remove the CD/DVD drive, insert an adapter "tray", and mount an additional disk-drive in that tray.

See: 2nd Hard Disk Drive Adapter for Ultrabay Slim

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adapter-Ultrabay-Exchange-UltraBase-ThinkPad/dp/B001JIUGOW

for an example of a "tray" that holds a disk-drive, and replaces a CD/DVD drive.

The motherboard supports two SATA devices, and Windows should use "plug-and-play" to recognize the second disk-drive.
