Need to find out which hard drive to get

HP Recommended
15-r052nr
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

I have a hard drive failure on my computer.  I know it is a 500gb 5400rpm.  What I dont know is if it is a sata drive or not. Any help would be appreciated it.

 

I did a system test and got the following failure id on the Hard Drive Short DST Check.

 

Failure ID: 0K6CGF-7JK8GX-XD7WLJ-60U203

 

Product# CND51076HJ

Product Name- 15-r052nr

Disk-drives using the "old" interface (Parallel ATA) had a maximum capacity of 500 GB, but that was a long time ago.

Given that your computer is running Windows 8, it came with a SATA drive.

Look for a 7200 RPM disk-drive, instead of a 5400 RPM disk-drive.

Or, if you don't use all 500 GB, think about buying a 240 GB SSD ("solid-state-disk"), for much faster I/O.
