Hi @Kdm5270,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your new HP All-in-One (AIO) PC model B5PW9AA with a 23.8” Full HD touchscreen is turning on but not connecting to the wireless keyboard and mouse, here’s how to troubleshoot the issue.

Step-by-Step: Fix Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Not Connecting

1. Check for a USB Wireless Receiver

Most HP wireless keyboard and mouse combos use a USB dongle (receiver) that must be plugged into a USB port on the PC.

  • Look for a small USB receiver, it may be:
    • Pre-installed in a USB port on the back or underside of the AIO
    • Stored inside the mouse or keyboard battery compartment
    • Packaged separately in the box

If it’s missing, the keyboard and mouse won’t work.

2. Check Power and Batteries

  • Ensure the keyboard and mouse have fresh batteries installed correctly.
  • Make sure both devices are switched ON (some models have a small power switch).
  • Remove any plastic battery tabs that may be preventing contact.

3. Reconnect the USB Receiver

  • Unplug the receiver, wait 10 seconds, and plug it into a different USB port.
  • Avoid using USB hubs; plug directly into the PC.

 4. Try Re-Pairing the Devices

If the keyboard and mouse are Bluetooth-enabled (some HP AIOs support this):

  • Go to System Settings > Bluetooth & Devices
  • Turn Bluetooth ON
  • Press and hold the pairing button on the keyboard/mouse until the LED blinks
  • Select the device from the list and pair it

5. Test on Another Device

To rule out hardware failure:

  • Plug the USB receiver into another computer
  • If the keyboard/mouse works there, the issue may be with the AIO’s USB ports or drivers

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
