The NVIDIA drivers recommended by HP are for older windows versions. These are causing my system to crash to blue screen. No driver recommended for Windows Version 1903. The latest drivers available on Nvidia website dont work as well.

@Parth8 , welcome to the forum.

Here is the latest driver for your laptop from nVidia.  Click on "Search" to find the driver.  I suggest that you read all of the information before attempting to install it.  I believe that it will most likely work, but there is no guaranty.

Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

I have tried all the available drivers listed on the NVIDIA website. I get error code 43 for all of them. Only drivers that work are the one recommended by HP. But soon the system crashes to blue screen after installing them.

@Parth8, what are you trying to accomplish by updating the video driver?  The reason that I am asking is, none of the drivers provided by HP appear to fix any problems that you might have.

I have Nvidia GeForce 940MX gpu installed on my system. And it stopped working since August 5 with error code 43. Probably it happened because of some windows update. Now ever since that I have downloaded and installed all the latest drivers available on Nvidia website. I got error 43 for all of them. Then I visited the drivers and softwares section of HP website. There were two drivers which were recommended by HP. These were for Windows versions 1709 and 1603. I installed 1709 version and it worked for 5 mins. Then my system crashed with blue screen. Video TDR error and watchdog violation errors. I have not been able to use it ever since then. I have got the bios updated, and probably everything that I could.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

  • I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8.

BIOS default:

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
