Pavilion 14-CE1509sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a 14 inch pavilion notebook that just switched off and now shows no signs of life. The charger, battery and charger port have all been checked and replaced but still no change.  When plugging the charger in the LED isn't lit and the power button does nothing, any ideas anyone; if not, it will be written off.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

  1. Disconnect all peripheral devices and remove all USB devices and SD media cards.

  2. Disconnect the AC power adapter, remove the battery, and then press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds to drain all residual power and restore default startup settings.

NOTE: If your computer has a sealed battery that cannot be removed, then perform a forced reset as shown in the HP support document, HP Notebook PCs - How to Power Reset Your Laptop.
  3. Reconnect the AC power adapter (but do not insert the battery), press the Power button, look for glowing lights near the caps lock and num lock keys, and listen for sounds of a fan or other moving parts turning.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I'm trying to fix this for a friend. They said it just went off whilst they playing Sims and after that literally no power is showing on the laptop.

I've already tried the steps you have suggested.

Thank you for posting back.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.  this sounds like hardware related issue as the computer is not turning on.

I would request you to contact our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/

And, also you can try resetting the Hard drive and Ram which might fix the issue.
