HP 250 G6 Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Since I bought my HP 250 G6 a year ago, I have always received a warning message when the battery ran out. Lately that warning no longer appears. So every day it happens to me that the notebook suddenly shuts down and my work is lost. What can I do?

The warning is from Windows, not from HP machines. Please try

(a) Right click battery and select Power option,

(b) Select Change plan settings on the current plan,

(c) Select Change Advanced power settings,

(d) Scroll down to the end and expand Battery

Now you can see what you need to do

Hello, I recommend to you diagnostic your battery for know if you can have a problem with it. For this, you need to discharge your battery under 90%, and use the test integrated to HP Support Assistant.

If you need you can install the last diagnostic utility here:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03467259?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0006

Thanks for pointing me to this test. The result (at 67%) is: "The battery is working properly."

Can you paste me the detailed results??

Thanks! Both options are "on". Certainly, this is set by default, and I never made any change to these energy options.

You can try to set "off", apply and reset "on" and apply.

So you can try the solution from @banhien , but your battery appears to have loose 15% of this original capacity. That can explain your problem.. Do you know what is your percent when your PC turn off?

Thanks, Fanordi! I'll try changing that setting. Let's see what happens when the battery is low again...
