I replaced the battery in my laptop and when i opened my laptop it showed a message saying "non hp battery detected" and when i went to run a battery check it says "unknown" status and when i did a component test on battery in hardware diagnosis it showed battery check "failed"... i cant check the status of my battery at all after the replacement of my battery.. im guessing that the replaced battery is a non-hp thats why it cannot detect my battery ... any solutions???
I have replaced plenty of failed notebook batteries with Non-HP compatibles and have not had the issue that you have described.
Your description is of a battery that I would request an RMA for from the vendor in order to get a replacement for the DOA battery.
RMA is a Return Merchandise Authorization.
