OMEN by HP 17-cb0xxx : USB will not properly recognize 512gb Supersonic Rage Elite thumbdrive.

HP Omen 17-cb0xxx Laptop sees 512gb usb, but shows no files while saying 70gb on disk. Trying to transfer files from old 2014 hp laptop. it sees usb fine. McAfee sees usb fine on new system and scanned files. File manager sees no files. Also: Would like OS installation Media. My computer came with pre-Chinese hacked OS. Same hack used in nov 2017.

I guess it might be a 17t-cb000 CTO according to drivers/firmware page. It looks like I'm going to have to use my support package, since no one is responding.

I understand your concerns.
Please perform the USB test and check.
1. Power off the PC and make sure that it is completely powered off.
2. Press the power button and the moment you press the power button immediately start tapping F2 key, you should see the system diagnostics screen.
3. Look for the component test, under that all the hardware will be listed, please choose USB and initiate the quick test.
Note: If it fails it will generate a 24 digits alphanumeric failure id, please capture that.
Have a nice day!!
