Old HP monitor - workaround

HP Recommended
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi I am old HP L2445w monitor that I am trying to connect to a new laptop (ACER Swift) but despite having the right connection, it says to check the video cable. I guess it needs a driver but can't find one. I heard there may be a workaround? Does anyone have any ideas?

Its specs

It has  VGA and DVI-D connectors; HDCP support  ports for input.  I don't know available port(s) on your ACER Swift (probably dozens of different models) but I believe it has one HDMI port. You can use HDMI-DVI cable (direct cable, no adapter required) such as

It should detect automatically. Otherwise download and install
