My left mouse button is loose, and wobbles from left to right. The H key on my keyboard doesn't work. I took the H keycap off to check what was wrong, and nothing was visibly wrong, but now I can't figure out how to put the H keycap back on. My computer dies without warning at 60-40% even though it does charge. My battery isn't properly attached, as one of the tabs is loose, and the other tab is forced to stay unlocked. My computer has been punched, dropped, and thrown. I have only replaced the hard drive. A tag got stuck in my fan, but I removed it. Is it even worth it trying to fix this thing?

@Sigma12, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Notebook 15-bs015dx!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Mouse Button
For the loose left mouse button, it would be ideal to have a professional check the internal mechanism, which could be misaligned or damaged due to impact.
Keyboard Keycap
To reattach a loose keycap:
- Align the keycap with the key mechanism (usually a small plastic hinge) on the keyboard.
- Press down gently but firmly on the keycap until it clicks into place.
However, given that the "H" key isn't functioning properly, it might need further inspection to ensure the switch underneath the key is not damaged.
Battery Issues
It sounds like your laptop's battery may be damaged or improperly connected, especially if the tabs aren't locking properly. Unfortunately, batteries can also be affected by physical impact, as indicated by previous incidents of physical damage. Consider these actions:
- Inspection: Check for any physical deformities in the battery compartment and on the battery itself.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hi @Sigma12,
Thanks for following up!
While we truly admire your initiative to fix things yourself, in this case, we would not recommend attempting these repairs on your own. Given the extent of physical damage you've described — including the loose battery, keyboard issues, and internal wear — DIY repairs could cause further complications or even pose safety risks.
It’s best to have a certified technician assess the laptop properly. They'll have the right tools and expertise to safely check and repair any issues.
We’re here if you have any other questions! Take care and stay safe. 😊
If you found this reply helpful, please click "Yes" and consider marking this post as "Accepted Solution" — it helps us support others too!
