Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community. I reviewed the case regarding issues with the computer's temperature. I will be delighted to assist you here.

Well, there could be many possible reasons for the computer getting hot.

In this case, Let's try to update the computer's bios and see if it works. 🙂

Follow this link do a quick search with the product number, select the right operating system and look under bios, to update the same.

Keep me posted. 🙂

@Barachiel HI thx for the reply!!

So i'll be the more specific i can,

The laptop arrived on friday 12 October, the weekend i tested it as much as i can, as i said using the app " For Honor"

and i istantly noticed the high temperature.

On Monday evening I've already updated the BIOS from hp site and everything from the Hp Support Assistant installed on the laptop, even the GPU drivers from the Official Nvidia site, but the temperature were still high (maybe decreased by just 2-3 celsius, but probably because it was late evening and not pomeridian as in the weekend).

I kept testing it, and yesterday evenig i tried with another game "XCOM2", the temperature were still high.

From CPUID HW monitor these are the results:

Motherboard min: 45 celsius max 89 celsius

CPU package min 43 max 93

        core0 min 43 max 93

        core1 min 43 max 93

        core2 min 42 max 86

        core3 min 41 max 89

(those MIN are not the real one, i mean usually it stays on 50/55 celsius in idle as said in the first post, but this night i kept it on for downloading and it went on those MIn, but first time i see those values..) (tried right now the game and still the same values max 92/3..)

the GPU keeps perfect temperature never goes over 65 celsius.

Keep in mind that we are in october, and the test were made on evening where ambiental temperatures are completely safe (they stay from 20 to 24 celsius...)

So im truly concerned if those MAX values are problematic, even because we are in Autumn almost Winter, and i'm afraid of the possible outcome in Summer, and when it will start to get a bit of dust inside...

Ah i even use an inclined base with fans for laptop...

this evening im goin to test it again with a bit of multitasking, running "XCOM2" and "For Honor" at the same time..

I even red other posts where people had same issues with temperature, contacted hp support, and find out it was the thermical paste or the heat pipes, or even the vents having problems, i even saw that of the 2 fans just 1 while playing reach 3000 rpm, the other one (the right left one i think) stays 100/300 rpm

I just want to understand if those values are normal for this kind of laptotp designed for gaming....

(obviously i love the laptop, the spec are perfect, and in game all run perfectly with 100/120 fps...it's really a nice product)

looking forward for you answer,

thanks in advice
