I just purchased an hp envy laptop (15M-DS0012DX) I was wondering if I could just stick an 8gb crucial stick into it and have it run with dual channel memory without having to buy a second stick. (https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/envy-x360-15-aq103nx/CT9556346)
I recommend that you buy the 8 GB memory module that is recommended from the crucial report for your specific model notebook.
The specs for your notebook indicate that it comes with 2 x 4 GB of memory, not 1 x 8 GB.
In order to upgrade to 16 GB you would need to replace both 4 GB chips if the HP specs are correct.
