I have installed ubuntu on my new hp laptop HP 15-cw1063wm but is show only 5.8 gb of system ram, while installed is 8gb. Where is rest of 2 gb.
Kindly assist.

Hi:
Yes, you should be able to add a 16 GB chip to one of the 4 GB chips and have 20 GB.
The notebook supports a max of 2 x 16 GB of memory.

HP released this document a while back, which explains the memory shortage...

This seems to only apply to some models with the AMD Ryzen processors.

Ok paul but the thing is i am using ubuntu 20.04 on that laptop no dual boot.
and second thing i have got 4x2= 8gb ram installed, can i add one 16gb more to it making it 16+4=20 gb.
