I have had an issue in the past In which I had thermal throttling issues but was somewhat fixed to be less frequent. Recently that has been happening more often again after the matter seemed to be fixed but instead has been overheating and affecting the base plate of the laptop to the point that it is bulged out on the sides. I fear this could be a possible battery issue but the metal itself has been warped substantially. My device still has 21 months remaining on it's warranty so I am really annoyed that it has come to this point. As I am typing this the device is getting quite warm to the touch and I have 1 browser open with basic system related services running in the background. I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
