After installing a new main battery in my Pavilion 15-cd022cl, I started to receive cmos error message, although the computer would then boot up. After some research, I learned that a dead or faulty cmos battery might be the culprit. After taking the back cover off, I have been unable to locate a second (i.e., cmos) battery. I have also been unable to find on the internet any specific details with respect to the cmos battery for the 15-cd022cl. So, my questions are: (1) Does the 15-cd022cl have a cmos battery? (2) If so, where might I find it? (3) If not, how do I deal with cmos issues?

Laptops that have an internal battery use it as the RTC or CMOS battery. There is no second, small RTC/CMOS battery. When you disconnected the main battery it reset the BIOS/CMOS to defaults. Access the BIOS and reset as you log out and it may clear the problem.
