I just expanded my Pavilion dv6-3155dx laptop memory from 4gb to 8gb. The BIOS and the system windows properties command both recognize the new 8 gb memory installed, however the usable memory did not increase. Before the upgrade (4 gb) the usable memory was shown as 2.43 gb. After the upgrade, (8 gb), the usable memory is still shown as 2.43 gb. Am I missing a property setting somewhere, or is the machine not really capable of utilizing the extra memory? I'm running Windows 10 64-bit and the processor is an Intel Core i3 M370@2.40 GHz, which Windows says is an x64 type.
Is there anything I can do to utilize the new memory, or is the laptop unable to handle it?
Thanks to anyone who can help.

- The System Configuration window will open. Go to the Boot tab in it.
- Select your Operating system from the list below if you have more than one. Now Click on the Advanced Options button.
