 Hello all, I want to upgrade RAM of my old Pavilion g6-2288 to 8gb , now only have one module 4gb, and I want to try DDR3L , any suggestion about that ?

Hi:

 

In order to meet the DDR3 standard, DDR3L memory has to be able to run at 1.5V as well as 1.35V.

 

DDR3 memory only runs at 1.5V and will not run at 1.35V.

 

So, if a PC requires DDR3 (1.5V) memory, a DDR3L memory chip should work fine.

 

But if a PC requires DDR3L memory, then a DDR3 1.5V memory chip will not work, or the PC will report an error that the wrong memory was installed.
