Hi! Can you tell me if the Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-s1000 has performance limitations? I used to use a Lenovo LOQ 15IRX9 laptop (Intel Core i7 13650HX, GeForce RTX 4060), which is lower in performance than my HP, but in games (compared in one game) on a previous laptop, FPS and performance were higher, as an example, on an old laptop FPS was up to 200+. On my new HP, FPS does not rise above 140-150. At the same time, the load on the system is small and the laptop does not heat up. As if something is blocking performance. Can you tell me if there is a way to increase productivity? Or is it the limitations of my laptop?🤗

@AngieTasty, Welcome to HP Support Community,
The HP Victus 16-s1000 is designed for high-performance gaming, and there are several ways to optimize its performance for the best FPS. To ensure your system is running at its full potential, you can check key settings like power management, GPU utilization, display refresh rate, and thermal performance. Adjusting these settings can help maximize frame rates and overall gaming efficiency. Let’s go through the steps to enhance your laptop’s performance. 😊
Check GPU Usage & Power Limits
- Open NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Preferred Graphics Processor > Set it to High-performance NVIDIA processor
- Under Power management mode, select Prefer maximum performance
- Set Windows Power Plan to High Performance (Control Panel > Power Options)
Disable Frame Caps & V-Sync
- In NVIDIA Control Panel, disable V-Sync
- Check in-game settings for FPS limits and remove any frame cap
- If you use GeForce Experience, turn off "Battery Boost" under performance settings
Check Display Refresh Rate & External Monitors
- Go to Settings > Display > Advanced display settings and confirm your screen is set to maximum.
Update Drivers & BIOS
- Remove old drivers, then reinstall the latest ones from the HP Support website.
Check for Background Apps & CPU Bottlenecks
- Open Task Manager > Processes and check for background apps using CPU/GPU
- Close unnecessary apps like OneDrive, Xbox Game Bar, Discord overlays, and Chrome tabs
