The usbc port upper right diagonal on the corner of the computer no longer works.......
I am using the usbc port a little lower on the side to feed ac power into the computer..............
If this fails AS DID THE OTHER USB PORT ON THE RIGHT SIDE also fails
what am I to DO
Will I have to discard this laptop, this portable computer simply because the usbc port no longer works??? I am traveling for 16 days as of next week the 24th of September and I need my computer to work and to charge
!!!

Have you run diagnostics?
Tap the ESC key after powering on. . Tap it once a second after you see the LEDs on the keyboard flash. When you see the startup menu, press F2 to run diagnostics.
If a component fails during the UEFI test then Click here to check warranty and Click here for world-wide contact info
Please inspect the non working USB-C port for physical damage. You may need a magnifier and a light to inspect. If there is physical damage consider getting a magnetic adapter for the working port that allows you to disconnect the power without moving the connector in and out of the port.
Does the non-working USB-C recognize flash drives when inserted?
Possibly a hard reset may restore the USB-C

I did all of that. I took the computer to a local repairman to see if he could replace the USBc port (this is the ac adapter port not data) He said the port could be only repaired by'....................micro soldering............... the new part onto the card??
I am repeating what he said. I don't really understand I called Staples in Rutland Vt where I am going next week but they do not do soldering............. What do I do............ for the moment I have the ac cable plugged into the other usbC port not on the diagonal end of the computer but on the side of the computer?????????
I am travelling with this computer for the next 15 days I am afraid that if the usbc port that I am using to power the computer stops working I am going to be saddled with a useless but very expensive computer -

Use a magnetic adapter to prevent any accidental damage to the remaining USB-C port
and
Click here for world-wide contact info
Or contact the closest authorized service center
Some stores such as Costco had additional warranty period beyond what HP shows.
I believe you are correct about the soldering. I looked for a modular USB-C replacement but l found was this

I could be mistaken. Go to the below site and enter your serial number
https://partsurfer.hp.com
Look for USB-C modular PCB , board, or component.
