HP 2000 2c34nr
Ubuntu LTS

Hi,

I have a HP 2000 2c34nr and I am wondering if I am able to upgrade the processor as it is a bit slow. It currently has an AMD E1-1500. I figured it would be soldered into the motherboard, however according to the posts linked below that may not be the case.

HP 2000 CPU Upgrade

HP 2000 2c34nr Ram Upgrade

From the second link, I was able to pull the service manual for my exact model of laptop, but the processor isn't listed there so I need further assistance.

Any help is appreciated and let me know if I need to clarify anything

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

c03575298 (hp.com)

In notebooks with the AMD processors, the processor is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded unless you replace the motherboard with one of the AMD motherboards listed in chapter 3 of the manual.

Only the notebooks that came with Intel processors have removable processors.

See the note in chapter 3, page 17, item 15.

(15) Processor (includes replacement thermal materials):
NOTE: Only valid on models with Intel processors. On AMD models, the processor comes with the system
board and cannot be removed.
