My laptop (HP Pavilion Aero Laptop 13z-bg000, 13.3") won't turn on, and does not seem to be receiving any power from the adapter. It looks like a hardware issue with the battery or something connected to the battery.
In order to get HP Support, and get it fixed or even check the warranty, I need to enter in the product information. I can only use the numbers on the bottom of the laptop case. I don't have the original box it came in, and the battery is not easily removable (I'd have to unscrew the case, which would supposedly void any warranty).
When I enter in the serial number (not included for security reasons), HP Support says:
"This product cannot be identified by serial number alone.
Please provide a product number as well."
When I enter in the number after ProdID, HP Support says:
"Please enter a valid product number"
I'm entering in a seven digit number (982P8AV), and it does not have the #ABA appended to the end of it, like I see on other product IDs. How do I find this number and get help from HP?
