HP Pavilion 13-an0031wm

Product specifications:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06162956

The line in question:

External ports
1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 2 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.2, HP Sleep and Charge); 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (1 HP Sleep and Charge); 1 HDMI 1.4; 1 headphone/microphone combo

Trying to get the type c port to connect to a monitor. I'm doubting that even though the specification has the part about DisplayPort 1.2, there's no thunderbolt support or alternate mode setting.

Honestly I tried with a type c to hdmi adaptor. Didn't work. This part of the specification may indicate that a type c to displayport1.2 adaptor may work? But I highly doubt it after going through other people's solutions.

Could someone help me figure out what this part in the product specification means?

Thank you so much for the manual! It provides a lot of cool details I can reference.

I just wish this capability wasn't listed in the product specifications, but there are other discrepancies as well (like the size of the ram, and the lack of indication of a fingerprint reader), although it's there in the manual.

This does answer my question, so thank you.
