Hi, I want to find the maximum ram and all frequency that my motherboard can support, can someone help me?

You're very welcome.

The processor controls how fast the memory frequency is.

Here are the intel specs for the i5-8250U processor your notebook has.

Note the memory frequency....2400 MHz max.

The memory cannot run any faster than that.

Hi:

Your notebook's processor can only run the memory at a max frequency of 2400 Mhz.

The max memory is 2 x 8 GB.

Below is the link to the service manual.  Chapter 1 has the memory upgrade info.

This would be a compatible 8 GB memory chip for your model...

Thanks, but running some software for the hardware information like cpu-z I founded that I have a ddr4-2666 ram installed instead of ddr4-2400 which is the maximum for the processor as you said. How is that possible?

You're very welcome.

That speed memory is probably just what HP had on hand at the time.

It works fine, but bridges to 2400 MHz because the processor can only run the memory at a max of 2400 Mhz.

So, with that being the case, I would get a compatible 2666 MHz memory chip to match what HP installed.

thank you so much for the answer. is that any way to let the memory work at the maximum frequency?
