Hello, I was wondering what this community's thoughts are concerning the long term use of the power adapter beyond charging the battery to 100%. It seems that there are differing opinions about leaving a laptop with the power adapter connected for a long term. I have heard that some recommend removing the battery when using the power adapter in this manner. Others say they have no problem with leaving the adapter connected - saying the battery won't overcharge. Some of this is rather old info and so I wonder what the current thinking is on this matter. My concern is having the laptop backed up regularly, and of course this means the unit must be powered up to do this. I would like to be able to set up a recurring backup schedule, and it would be nice if the unit could be powered up continuously like a desktop. Any recommendations will be appreciated.

From my observations on over 200 machine, keeping notebooks batteries on main 24/24 for 2 years all batteries are much better than plug in and out everyday.
