How do I know if I can upgrade my RAM memory and how much could I upgrade it to?

Thank you so very much, very helpful. Followed the instructions and this is the capacity that I get: 16777216 / 1,048,576. = 16
😲
Does it sound right?
For upgrading the RAM, is there a specific brand that I should get, so that the laptop is not damaged?

You're very welcome.
If your notebook has an Intel Celeron processor like the one in the discussion, I recommend you get the same 16 GB memory chip as I posted for the other forum member, since the notebook will only have one memory slot.

Hi:
Yes, then your notebook will have one memory slot and you can install the 16 GB memory chip I recommended in that slot since the report indicated your notebook can support 1 x 16 GB of memory.
Here is the link to the service manual. The memory removal and replacement procedure can be found in chapter 5.

There is also this service teardown video which may be of help.
The model in the video uses the same service manual as yours.

Anytime.
Glad to have been of assistance.
If you click on the link again you will find that it is working again.
I don't know what problem HP is having with their support pages, but they seem to be down an awful lot lately.
