pavilion g6 2250sx
Linux

i want to add more ram to my system, but system info in linux shows maximum capacity of ram slot is 16 gb. which is maximum capacity of intel pentium b980 processor. but manual of hp pavilion g6 2250sx says i can only add memory up to 8 gb only. and slot support only 4 gb ddr3.

 can i really add 2 x 8gb DDR3 sticks in RAM slot?

(nb: I switched to linux from built in windows os)

Thank you for the information.

As per the service guide for your computer, the maximum supported RAM on your computer is 8GB. However, you can go ahead and install 16GB at your own discretion.
