HP Laptop 15-da0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm looking to upgrade the RAM on this Laptop but I can't seem to get the back off to check what RAM is needed. I believe it's DDR4 but i'm not sure if there's a specific Mhz I should buy as well as the maximum allowed RAM capability? Also not sure if it's 1 slot or 2?

HP Laptop 15

The model number is 15-da0057na

4Gb Ram

Any other information needed just ask

Hi Craig,

Max RAM for your notebook is 32GB of DDR4 2400MHz RAM (2x16GB) even if service manual mentions 16GB.

There are two slots. You can buy from your preferred brand. At the moment you have one 4gb Module and one empty slot, So you could add another 4GB module or more.

Example:

Another upgrade you should perform is to replace the Hard Drive with a 2,5" SATA3 SSD which would give a great boost to the everyday performance of the PC. The best would be to install an M2 PCIe NVMe SSD

Example:

Hope it helps,

David

Is there a way to have the SSD support the operating system and have the HDD to use as storage?

HP Recommended

Hi,

Yes, it is possible.

You can install Windows 10 on the SSD and set it as boot drive. I would format the other drive and the use as a storage drive.

David

Are there any instructions anywhere on how to do that? I am able to upgrade certain hardware and software but i'm guessing this is gonna be a lot more complicated. Also to support the operating system what would suggest i'd need for the SSD?
