I would like to Upgrade my 4GB RAM, but unsure what Limit and type i can use. The manual only gives me part number for RAM i already have installed, but not maximum size RAM i can use and what type. And do you know if Curry's has a Service which does this for you or not. I did buy my Laptop there which has just ran out of of warranty but is covered under Care & Repair still.

You're very welcome.
Most folks can live comfortably with 2 x 8 GB of memory.
I'm not a PC engineer, so I have no idea what other effects adding memory can do to a PC such as heat generation, power consumption and whatnot.
I figure that if that was a significant problem, PC manufacturers would limit the amount of memory one could install to prevent damaging the notebook.
I have always maxed out the memory in my notebooks and desktops to whatever the windows report has indicated and never had an issue.
When the battery runs low, I recharge it.
If this is a concern of yours take some benchmark tests to see where you are at now, and where you are at after you install the amount of memory you want to install.

Hi:
It appears that HP only has the maintenance and service guide for the older model series on your notebook's support page.
HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-d4000 (4C802AV) Manuals | HP® Customer Support
Chapter 1 indicates if the notebook has an Intel core processor, it has two memory slots and can support 2 x 8 GB of memory.
The crucial memory report for the model series indicates the notebook can support 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-3200 memory.
HP - Compaq HP 15-d4000 | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com
You can do this to see how much memory your notebook can support:
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.
This will open the command prompt.
2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.
There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

Thanks, it says 32gb Ram from Command prompt, but with only i5 and basic Laptop, would it be better to upgrade it to only 8gb or 16gb Ram, as not sure rest of System would handle upgrade from 4gb, and will this effect power consumption?
