Hello, I have an HP Slimline desktop Model No. 290-A0045M and I'm trying to do an upgrade from 8gb to 16 or 32gb on ram, and convert from Hard Drive (HDD) 1 TB to a Solid State Drive (SSD) 1 TB. Is there any safe way to backup all my data, files, and documents with sensitive info including photos with my family and friends and others on an external hard drive? Can I use a "used" external hard drive, or it has to be a blank brand new one? I have the components listed below this message. Are they the correct parts and are they compatible? If not please let me know what the better alternatives are because I've heard people having issues of their computer "not" booting up after the HDD to SSD upgrade conversion, and other problems too. (Note: I'll also provide links along with the components listed below this message if you need to know more about them)
*Components for Upgrade:
Hard Drive (HDD) to Solid State (SSD):
Crucial 32GB Kit (16GBx2) DDR4-3200 UDIMM
CT2K16G4DFRA32A
Crucial MX500 1TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5-inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD
CT1000MX500SSD1
