Hello, I tried to expand the RAM of my Pavilion x360 convertible 14-dy2000la with a Mushkin -Mem NTB 16GB PC4 3200 22-22-22-52 1.2V MRA4S320NNNF16G REDLINE, but it does not recognize it.

I tried searching on Kingston's website but it doesn't give me any results since it doesn't recognize the model.

Which one can I use?

Hi @Carlos_Erazo,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

For your HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14, you'll need to ensure compatibility with both the RAM module and the laptop itself. Here are a few steps and considerations to find the right RAM.

Compatibility Check

Check Existing Specifications:

  • Form Factor: Your laptop uses DDR4 SODIMM RAM.
  • Speed: Most likely supports DDR4 2400MHz or 2666MHz, but double-check your current RAM specifications.
  • Maximum Capacity: Verify the maximum RAM supported by your laptop. Generally, this is found in the laptop's user manual or HP’s support website.

Compatibility with Mushkin RAM:

  • The Mushkin - Mem NTB 16GB PC4 3200 22-22-22-52 1.2V you tried is DDR4 3200MHz, which might not be compatible if your laptop supports only up to 2666MHz.

Recommended RAM Modules

Here are some RAM options that are generally compatible with HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14 models:

Kingston ValueRAM:

  • Model: KVR24S17S6/8
  • Type: DDR4 2400MHz SODIMM
  • Capacity: 8GB

Crucial Laptop Memory:

  • Model: CT8G4SFS824A
  • Type: DDR4 2400MHz SODIMM
  • Capacity: 8GB

Corsair Vengeance:

  • Model: CMSX8GX4M1A2400C16
  • Type: DDR4 2400MHz SODIMM
  • Capacity: 8GB

Installation Tips

  • Ensure Compatibility: Double-check the RAM’s speed and capacity against your laptop’s specifications.
  • Update BIOS: Sometimes updating your laptop’s BIOS can help with RAM recognition issues.
  • Install Correctly: Ensure the RAM is seated properly in the slot.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @Carlossss ,

Service / repair your HP product if the issue persists after completing all the preceding steps.

Go to Contact HP Customer Support to schedule a product repair or replacement. If you are in Asia Pacific, you will be directed to a local service center in your area.

To confirm your warranty status, go to HP Product Warranty Check. Repair fees might apply for out-of-warranty products.

Thanks
