I have just purchased an an007TX hp notebook. It has a single 8gig DDR3 1600 RAM stick. I have an extra stick of RAM with identical spec, but it will not run. I have tried in both RAM slots in single or dual config with no luck. With the stick on its own the notebook won't boot. The stick definitely works. I also have a 4gig stick with same spec which also will not run.
What am I missing? Please help

Hi,
You should be able to install max 16GB of DDR3L 1600 Mhz RAM (2x8GB).
Are you sure that the other RAM is DDR3L which has 1.35 V requirement and not DDR3 which has 1.5V requirement? They both fit in the same slot.
Let me know,
David

Hi.
What do you mean same specs ? Do you use the right part number:
8-GB (DDR3L-1600) part # 693374-005
By the way your machine has
Two SODIMM slots - NON customer accessible / upgradeable
DDR3L-1600 Dual Channel Support
Supports up to 16 GB of system RAM in the following configurations:
● 16384-MB total system memory (8192×2)
● 12288-MB total system memory (8192×1) + (4096×1)
● 8192-MB total system memory (8192×1) or (4096×2)
● 6144-MB total system memory (4096×1) + (2048×1)
● 4096-MB total system memory (4096×1) or (2048×2)
Did you check with an Authorized Service Provider parts ?
