Product: HP 2000- 2116tu
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am using HP 2000 2116tu laptop model. Now i want to upgrade the RAM. I want to upgrade it to 8gb. In my laptop model ddr3 1600 Mhz 1.5 V support. Can i use 8 gb ddr 3 1600Mhz 1.35 volt ram? It will give same performance?

It is ok to use 1.35V RAM, machine will use less power and a bit cooler.

Hi,

Yes. DDR3 RAM uses 1.5V and DDR3L RAM uses 1.35V

DDR3L RAM can be used in a DDR3 notebook, such as yours, as it is compatible and will use the 1,5V without any problem. DDR3 RAM can not be usd in a DDR3L machine as it will not have enough volts.

So basically there will be no difference if you use DDR3 or DDR3L RAM.
