Hi:

 

Yes, you can.  On that model you can install 2 x 8 GB of memory for a total of 16 GB.

 

Below is the link to the service manual.  The memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1 on page 2.

What the manual means by not customer upgradable, non accessible is that memory upgrades are supposed to be done by an authorized service center.

 

But if you think you can do the job yourself by following the guidance in the manual and not breaking anything in the process, then it can be done.
