Product: HP Envy x360
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Envy x360 which I've had a little over a year so my warranty has expired.   Took it to Bestbuy to get it diagnosed and they told me the ram was bad.   The computer has one 4 and one 8 and they say both are bad so I ordered new ones.   Now they are saying they can replace one but not the other one because it is welded to the motherboard.   Is this common for it to be welded?  Please help!!!

Yes, many machines now have RAM come with motherboard. I believe not in your machine, Bestbuy may say the true because they opened your machine but what is your Envy x360 ?  Please use the following instructions to find out the model/product of your machine:
