Re: Battery Drains While Shut Down (Spectre x360 Late 2016)

Can you tell  me  how you disabled  fast boot ? I was able to disable   usb charging VIA BIOS but found  no  option (or dont know where) to  disable fast boost ...  I hoever did see an  option to 'Turn on fast startup"  in  the Power options , is that it ? I just bought this super expensive machine 2 days ago and am really disappointed to see this battery drain issue ... hope your 2  suggestions will work out for me  ...

Re: Battery Drains While Shut Down (Spectre x360 Late 2016)

well, let me tell you where I am, and it isnt pretty. I noticed that the battery continued to drain at a very fast rate. With brightness turned down and running no add ons I was getting about 4 hours, which is totally unacceptable. I called support they hooked in, of course the sphinx had already been done. He detemined that I should send it in. I agreed. All was well.

Next day box came I shipped it backed and was suppose to get it today. Lat night I npticed a hold showing in repair status. I had recieved no call. I called them and found out it needed a part that was on back-order and he could give me no timeframe. I stated this was unacceptable on a new computer where they had obviously found a probelm. So I said just ship me another unit, which he said he didnt have the authority to do. He escalted it to the next level for me to speak to I assume a supervisor. Got cut off, and its funny they ask for your phone number in case this happens so they can call you back. I waited a hour no return call. I called back and finally spoke to a supervisor.

I told him that at the least, they should ship a new one since they didnt have a clue as to when part would be in. He asked for me to give him 24 hours to find out and basically agreed that if he couldnt find out he would make it right. I just got call who I assumed was same individual, but read exactlly off the data I had wrote when I sent it back. He claimed that based in what he saw that 4 hours was acceptable for this battery. So they advertise up to 16   hours but 4 is perfectly fine for a new computer.

He even suggested that I just ship it back to Amazon since I was still in my 30 day return period so they could ship me a new one. I said that is ridiculous as they would just send one with the same issue. He offered nothing for a $1300.00 computer.

I was livid to say the least that this is how customers are treated. I told him I have a Asus UX330UA with same battery that gives me over 11 hours with the exact same battery. He said yes but the Spectre has a I-7 processor. It does, a Kaby Lake I-7  7500 which is more efficient then the I-7 6500. I knew it was not the processor killing the battery. So they are just sending it back as is, and now I have to start all over. I came here to help folks and build a relationship with HP users on the Spectre 360 and feel like now,  they could honestly care less about their customer base. I thought all of that was suppose to have changed when they split their 2 divisions.

l was wrong. I learned a very hard lession today in trust and what this world has really detoriated into. All I can say is run for the hills before you buy HP. I

thought Dell customer service was bad but this takes on a whole new meaning to zero loyality  for the customer.. You acknowledge the problem, and do nothing. Guess I know why the part is on back order.

My advice do not allow yourself to go through what I just found out. That my friends, is the end of my story and the end of ever owning a HP product again.  Will just stick with Asus.
