Well this is absolutely absurd, the least expensive board I could find is 600.00 !!!  Does anyone have advise on where I can purchase a board for less.
I paid 1,300 for this laptop just under three years ago.
I have spent a lot of time and money troubleshooting the bluescreen crashes.... new hard drive, new battery, geek squad help (which they could not fix it either)

@Mimsy1 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you would like to replace the motherboard.

In that case, I would suggets you conatct our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.

Or you can conatct the local service center for repair.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.

Keep us posted,

I did reach out to your HP support group and was told to repair my laptop the cost would start and $400 up to $700, plus shipping.  I can not afford to pay this much for this laptop repair.  I bought this HP Spectre laptop for $1,300 making monthly payments less then 3 years ago.  When I tried to purchase the motherboard from HP to replace it myself they said I would have to purchase from an outside source, the lowest cost I have found was $600 !

I  brought this HP Spectre Laptop to Best Buys geek squad, they were not able to repair it and said they would have to send it to the next level of geek squad repair people who would purchase the part from HP.  If HP charges them 600.00 and then  I  paid $200 for the support package from the Geeks, plus $85.00 for shipping, my cost would be $885.00!!!

I am soooo angry that I basically purchased a throw away product !! I am very disappointed that HP does not stand behind their products.

It would be very difficult to sink this much more money into this HP Spectre when I believe the reason this motherboard failed was the laptop runs way to hot and burned up the motherboard ! And I would be taking a chance the same components would fail again.

Signed, Very Very disappointed consumer !

Thank you Praveen196.

I received a private message from JeffHelp requesting my laptop info.  I sent the info to him yesterday and have not heard back.

Thanks
