Reliability issues on my HP pavillion

HP Recommended
Pavilion x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've been using my laptop for 4 years now and it's has always been doing great. But recently I've got 2 major issues, one of the fans broke down and my motherboard got shot. I don't know if it's only me or but from the day I got the laptop it has always been running at really high temperature, and had a really loud fan. Could the motherboard getting shot a result of the fan issue, and should I expect similar problems in the future, and therefore consider upgrading to a new one?
