Replace Hard Drive with SSD

Notebook 17-bs061st
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just purchased  a HP Notebook, model 17-bs061st, and would like to replace the current HD with a SSD. I've done this many times with other laptop brands, but this is my first time owning a HP laptop, and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to pop it open to replace the drive, or to upgrade the RAM in the future. I looked up the web and youtube, but no dice. Anyone can help? Thanks in advance.

Replace Hard Drive with SSD

Hi,

If you look on page 43 of service manual you can see various steps to replace hard drive. On page 41 you can see how to remove the bottom cover and where the screws are placed. There are screws under the rubber feet.

You can also look at these HP videos for that model which can help with any upgrade:

Let me know if you need further help,

David

Just an observation that HP makes it so complicated and tedious to access the RAM slots, the HD, and the battery. Access doors work a lot better, and minimize the risks of damaging the laptop. The screws hidden under the rubber feet are just bad engineering, and I hope they won't come off with regular use. With your help, I got the SSD installed, so the laptop is blazing fast now. Thanks again.

This is not helpful information as the link to the service manual takes you to a Page Not Found graveyard.

The video is useless as well because it says Remove the battery, CD drive and bottom case. Well, my inability to figure out what to do to get the bottom case off was the reason for my seeking help here. I have all of the screws out of the bottom including the four under the rubber feet and the botom of the case is not budging.

Does anyone have a link to the actual manual or help in getting the case open?
