@Topsy_Media,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to purchase the battery for your computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you check the availability of the part on HP part store. Below is the link for HP part store.

https://parts.hp.com/hpparts/Default.aspx?mscssid=2F5E3FF9EC7948EF867B126261F083B5&cc=AU&lang=EN&jum...=

If the part is not available in part store, I recommend you try online or check locally.

Below is the batter part number.

3-cell, 45-Wh, 3.83-Ah, Li-ion battery

Part number: 816238-850

Hope that answers your question and you have a great day.

Hi,

You do not sell the part...

Part is not orderable in the HP Parts Store

Now are there any reputable companies that HP know of that would sell the genuine HP part.  I have googled the part number but the sites are not entirely 100%.  I highly doubt I would get the HP warranty on the part so by the looks of things I am stuck with it.

I wonder what thet secret of a private message solving the issue was...

Problem with battery is namely mostly solved by just un- and replugging the battery (yes even the one inside the laptop. HP hides behind regulation not to mention that siolution. They rather have you to send in the laptop and charge you 200 euro for doing the same only!

@aambresser

Not true. HP does not charge 200 Euro to unplug and replug the battery. And that is not going to help if the battery is overheating. Your misinformation is not helpful.

The forum gave me nothing so just closed the call.  Called HP directly.

The part is not availible in the UK, need HP to install, pickup and dropoff with a charge of £152 to replace the battery and also complete diagnostics, includes checking the power outlet on the notebook.
