The battery on my laptop has died after 2 years (even after taking care to remove it from the mains when fully charged). Is this usual?
I'm struggling to work out which type of battery I need to replace it as there are so many different models, any ideas?
Thanks

Of course we can find your exact replacement battery.
Your battery:
(9) Battery, 3-cell, 43-WHr, 2.83-AHr, Li-ion (includes cable) 761230-005
See pp. 15, and 31. Of course this is an "internal" battery and not easy to replace.
2 years is about the low end of average battery life. It can be 2-4 years within a standard deviation.
This is a "compatible" battery from amazon.com at a very good price:
Genuine:
HP Parts Store does not stock it.
