Replacement battery

Pavilion 15t-p000
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Received a replacement battery for a Pavilion 15t-p000 laptop. The original was a #756743-001. This one is a #756478-422. I don't find this number on the HP parts site. I know batteries see multiple cross use between units but I'd like some confirmation that this is a viable component for this laptop before I attach it and fire it up. Thanks.

@benefit13

It's not unusual for HP to replace an old model battery with a newer one -- and that changes the part number.  I have an HP DV6 laptop, and the replacement battery I purchased has a different part number than the original.

If you use this link to look up the part numbers for your PC, it will show you any replacement numbers:  http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-dv6-6c00-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-series/5191856/mo...

Good Luck

I appreciate the response. That's where I pulled the part number from originally and they only list the one part number 756743-001 (but I did look again just to make sure). HP says this part number is used in 200 different products. My problem is the part number on this battery, 756478-422, doesn't show up on any HP site search, or on any google search for HP original OEM batteries - just HP battery equivalents - but none of those directly related to the 756743-001. I would hesitate (read wouldn't) use an unknown on one of my laptops, and definately  don't want to experiment with the family member's laptop this is for.

OK, then you should check the output specs of the two batteries -- voltage and amperage.

IF they match, and the plug is the same, then the battery will work.

Good Luck

Replacement battery

Well. Finally found the battery in question on a HP site under Living Progress/Environmental (MSDS). It's kinda what I've been looking for. I was hoping to find reference that this was a battery used by HP, and used in the Pavilion 15, which this says it was. So I guess were going in. Thanks for your responses.
