Will my laptop be able to read a memory stick pro duo from older cameras? I am sure that the memory card is working, but when i plug it into the laptop it wont read my memory stick, do I need any drivers for this?

If you bought the notebook with Windows, all of the drivers should have been included in the HP factory operating system image they installed.

Below is the link to the latest Realtek SD card reader driver HP has for your notebook.

If installing the driver doesn't get the SD card reader to work, unfortunately I don't have any other suggestions for you to try.

Normally multi format reader does not support Sony memory sticks and memory sticks duo pro. Not the software but physical sizes. You can use an adapter or use an external USB adapter which supports Sony Memory Stick Duo Pro.
