Everytime I try to turn off the PC, while the screen is turned off the processor works at high speed until instead of switching off I get a error page steading:
Smart hard disk error
the smart hard disk check has detected an imminent failure. To ensure no data loss please back up the contents and run the hard disk test in system diagnostics
Hard disk 1 (301)
After I run the system diagnostics i get
FAILURE ID: 9GAMU0-6318HX-MFP0J-60DU03
PRODUCT ID D3D39EA#AB2
HARD DISK 1
what are my options?

Post back if you need help with putting software on the new drive.
You likely can recover some or all of the data on the old drive using a usb to SATA adapter which you can get for a few dollars.
