Dear folks,

IMy laptop comes with a 128 GB Scandisk SSD and 1TB HDD.  My windows 10 is on my 128GB SSD. I want to upgrade my 128 GB SSD to Samsung's 512 GB NVM SSD. I have few questions.

1- Is my laptop compatible with NVM SSD's? and what size should I opt for?

2- How can I keep my current windows setting and programs and transfer them directly to my newly upgraded SSD?

4- Can you also tell me what is the latest RAM type supported by my laptop?

3- Also, My Battery is almost dying. I have checked Hp website for the replacement but I did not find any replacement battery for my laptop. Can you please suggest me what shall I do in this regards?

Please reply as soon as possible

regards

Afaq

@AfaqShk,

I reviewed your post and I understand that you have a couple of upgrade related questions.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

The SSD installed on your computer is 2280 M2 SATA-3 and your computer doesn’t support NVMe drives.

Below is the memory installed on your computer.

8 GB 2133 MHz 1.2v DDR4

If you want to upgrade the SSD then you need to replace it with the M2 SATA 3 SSD and you can use any cloning software to copy the Windows and application from the original hard drive to the new one.

Please refer to the below service guide for your computer for more information.

You can purchase all the replacement parts available for your computer from HP part surfer.

Follow the steps in the below article for detailed instructions.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00372736

Or you can contact support and they will assist you in ordering the battery for your computer.

Here is how you can get in touch with support.

1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

I hope that answers your question and you have a great day!
