Pavilion 15-0061na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Can anyone help please?

Concerning an upgrade to the above notebook by the fitting of an additional SSD.

Investigation confirmed that the motherboard is configured to accept/manage SSD, and I have purchased the appropriate 2280 format unit.

The back casing of the notebook has been removed in preparation of fit however, the expected SSD socket on the motherboard is missing.

The model is now out of warranty but the question generated:  is this a HP manufacturing mistake?

The motherboard appears to have the appropriate contacts to take an SSD socket.  Photographs can be provided if required.  (I have also recently upgraded a similar model which does have the socket).

The service manual is not clear on the SSD socket description and part number nor whether this can be subsequently added.

If anyone can help please and also advise on how to obtain and fit?

Thank you.

TurboSteve
